Hull FC 24-20 Catalans Dragons: Black and Whites hold off second-half fightback for successive Super League wins

Hull held off a spirited second-half Catalans fightback and earned back-to-back Betfred Super League victories with a 24-20 win at the MKM Stadium.

Hull were brimming with confidence following their win over Leeds last week and they impressed in the first 40 minutes, scoring four tries courtesy of Arthur Romano, Lewis Martin, Logan Moy and Sam Lisone.

The script completely switched after the interval, and Catalans replied with four tries in the space of 12 minutes from Lenny Marc, Leo Darrelatour (two) and Charlie Staines to make it a two-point game, before a late Zak Hardaker penalty settled the contest for the home side.

It took four minutes for Hull to get on the board as Romano notched against his former club.

Hull had their second of the afternoon in the 13th minute courtesy of a costly Catalans error. Marc lost the ball near his own try-line, James Bell pounced and gave it to Martin, who cruised over for his fourth try of the season.

A third try followed when Davy Litten guided a high ball into the path of Bell, who set up Moy.

Lisone was only on the field for a matter of seconds when he crashed through to score with his first touch and give Hull a healthy half-time lead.

The Dragons were a different prospect after the turnaround and they crossed through Marc, before cutting the deficit to 12 points after Darrelatour finished off a devastating move.

The visitors then moved to within two points when Darrelatour went over in the corner, before Staines scored to set up a nervy final 10 minutes.

Hull were relieved when they were given a penalty for a mid-air tackle on Moy, and Hardaker slotted the two points to ease the pressure.
